Clownfishs are colourful fish found in warm tropical oceans and seas . About 28 different speicies of fish have been recognized and are found in the Pacific and Indian oceans, Great Barrier reef , Red Sea, Arabian Sea . They belong to the class Actinopterygii and family Pomacentridae.

Some species are found in a restricted geographic region, while others are distributed over a large area. The fish are yellow, orange, reddish or black in colour with white patches. The length of the grown up fish depends on the species and varies from 10 cm to 18 cm.
